LAHAR COLLECTION So excited to share my collaboration with and to be on the cover of ’s January–February issue telling this story. This partnership bridges Los Angeles and Mumbai, fusing traditional Indian craftsmanship with modern design. Æquō, founded by Tarini Jindal Handa and Florence Louisy, connects global creatives with India’s craft heritage, aligning perfectly with my design philosophy. For this collection, we’ve reimagined bronze casting and glass enameling techniques, breathing new life into ancient methods. Our reinterpretation of a 3D vector motif, cast in solid bronze, nods to the rich history of Indian decorative arts, embracing the essence that captivated international architects in the 1920s and 30s. This is truly a three-way collaboration between the gallery, the artisans, and my studio. Spending time in the workshops in Mumbai with the artisans who handcrafted each piece was an incredible journey—I learned so much from the process and from witnessing their mastery firsthand. Working with Æquō’s network of skilled craftspeople has deepened my understanding of how heritage techniques can shape contemporary design. This collection embodies the spirit of cultural exchange and creative exploration, creating what Æquō calls “the antiques of the future.” Grateful to Komal Sharma, Nuriyah Johar, Harsh*ta Nayyar, Amy Astley for the incredible support and love, and the entire AD India team for sharing this story so beautifully. The exhibition “By Fire” showcasing pieces from this collection is now open at Æquō Gallery in Mumbai—if you’re in the city, I’d love for you to experience the work in person. All 12 pieces from the Lahar collection will be available on kellywearstler.com starting January 19. XK
