Moment of zen. New hammocks, check. Birds singing, check. Glass of wine, check.

Old oak tree, new plantings and a small water feature for the birds. Moment of zen in La Cañada.

This city runs on the hard work, skills and talents of immigrant labor. Their contributions add to the vibrancy and beauty of this place. No gardens get built here without the help of immigrants, descendants of immigrants or people who look might look like immigrants to people who don’t know and needn’t worry about it. They deserve our respect and gratitude. If you don’t agree with my tee shirt, I am not the designer for you. Don’t call me.

Such a treat to be able to visit Judson Studios yesterday. I had been on their waiting list for a tour for months. Beautiful art, design and craftsmanship. I learned so much about the process.

I finally got a few mature Austrian finger limes from my baby tree! They are delicious, tart, crunchy beads of lime juice. Hoping for a bigger crop soon. There are more flowers on the tree.
