Locking in the window hardware finish before we sign off on shop drawings and send the order to fabrication.

Meanwhile, out on site, the crew's already trenching.

The backyard was never meant to feel like an afterthought here.

Black steel and wood slats wrap both the house and the pool house in the same language, but we pulled them just far enough apart that the pool house reads like it arrived on its own rather than being tacked on.

Everything opens toward the water — glass slides away, the roofline cantilevers out for shade, and the garden fills in the rest.

Light does most of the work here before a single fixture turns on.

A skylight pulls daylight straight down through the center of the room, and on either side, an arched doorway opens onto the shower and the bath, each one framed like a window onto the landscape rather than just a room. By midday, this stops feeling like an interior at all.

A basement family room without any view to the outside is a tough space to want to spend time in, but still a genuinely great space to have in a house.

We treated this one as a quiet refuge from the levels above — warm, loungy, a little cocooned. It's the room where our clients come to read, play chess, or just watch TV without needing a reason to.

Steel posts are in, supporting the cantilever on the new deck pergola.

We're also extending the existing eaves all the way around the house to redefine the rooflines — a small trick to make the old hip roof look a little more hip 😉

Some rebuilds after the Palisades fires wanted quiet.
This one wanted to turn toward the street and the view at once.

The facade folds instead of sitting flat, each white plane angled to catch a different sightline, so the house looks like it's still deciding which way to face. At dusk, the glass gives it away — warm light held inside cool, folded geometry, watching the street as much as the street watches it.

In the Midwest, the seasons do the decorating.

Just beyond the dining room glass, this courtyard sits like a painting that keeps repainting itself — bare branches in winter, full green by summer.
We built the room around that contrast: rough steel and raw texture on one side, soft landscaping and organic curves on the other, each one making the other easier to see.

This family's Palisades rebuild started from a pitched-roof house — for the new one, they wanted to go fully modern instead.

The lower level stays private from the street: solid concrete, no windows looking out at passing cars. Upstairs, where the bedrooms are, that privacy flips into glass almost wall-to-wall, so the rooms that actually face the street get the light and the view instead of just the noise.

➡️ Swipe to see it at dusk — the concrete and wood read completely differently once the lights come on inside.

We believe architecture is at its most powerful when it feels inevitable—born from its landscape rather than placed upon it.

A home should weather with dignity, embrace the changing sky, and quietly enrich the lives unfolding within. Timeless design is not about standing apart; it's about belonging completely.

Demo day on another SoCal project! We're removing the partitions that didn't make sense between the living spaces, opening everything up into one flow that actually feels like a welcoming family home.

We also tore out the outdated brick and concrete patio, bringing back the feeling of a green California garden instead.
