The well has run dry yet again on the Vintage Wah. I was very happy to have brought it back for the last few drops. But I’m building out the final 8 that I can do for now. I’m always hunting for parts, so it’s not goodbye forever (hopefully). These will be ready to ship some time in July, maybe a little sooner. So keep an eye out for updates on these final 8 Vintage Wah. Here is some noodling I do to test the expression controllers

I’ve got two working version of the RR, one on the left has Ge Octave diodes and the one on the right Si Octave diodes. Both have Si transistors and clipping diodes. The tone switch isn’t original but is helpful for getting the octave to pop out on the mid cut side. It’s kind of a pain to build, but very fun to play. These will be very limited releases, but I think worth putting out there!

Step 1 = Build Pots. Seems easy, but the amount of steps just to make the Time-O-Lite pots is a bit overwhelming at times. To prep these parts as you see them, I’ve already spent 3 hours this morning getting to here. Now I can assemble them. Swipe to the last frame for a time lapse of one pot being assembled. Then I have 29 more to do… it’s going to be a long day. But when it’s done, I’m one step closer to batch 3 of the / R2R Electric Time-O-Lite Fuzzes. Keep your eye out for more updates soon!

I recently connected with a player I’ve long admired, who after grabbing a MKI Pro from me asked if I had ever built a CBS Arbiter Doubler. To which I said “no, but I can try!” So here’s my first attempt, built into a gigantic darkroom timer housing. The Doubler is basically a British clone of a Foxx Tone Machine. I feel like mine isn’t getting quite the upper octave that my Tone Machine does. But the fuzz tone is pretty spot on. Time to start testing different transistors until I’m 100% happy. Could be a future limited run, stay tuned

Finally had the opportunity to snag a 1971 Traynor YBA-1 Bass Master and I’m not surprised that I love it. It’s tough to go wrong putting a guitar through a cranked Tweed Bassman circuit. Huge thank you to for letting me take this off his hands. I’m finally living in an EL34 world…now to find some matching vintage Mullard power tubes to go with the set of 1961 Mullard ECC83 I dropped in it. Here’s some poorly played AC/DC on the wrong guitar🤘

There’s just something about old reverb units that I just can’t get enough of! This old 1960’s Telefunken Echomixer was purchased brand new by an American GI while stationed in West Germany back in to 60’s. It then made its way back to Kentucky and sat around, until it was picked up at an estate sale by the person who sold it to me. So if the story is true, I’m the 3rd owner of this guy. It was sold untested, I don’t believe they knew it needed to be powered by 220v and not 110v. Somehow I misplaced my 5 Pin DIN adapters, so I too will need to wait for new ones until I can test it. I already have one that modified for 1/4” so I may leave this one stock. I’ve seen these modded so each channel cascades into the next. I think that may need to happen on the other one too. This one is too nice to go messing around. I’m pretty stoked on this 1960’s Telefunken Echomixer with original box! A fantastic analog spring reverb unit!
