Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It’s a day to remember those who never made it home and to honor the sacrifices made by our nation’s service members and their families.

Today, we remember them.

East Texas weather putting on a show tonight.

Snapped this photo this evening as storms developed south and southeast of the Longview area. The radar image shows some of the stronger activity moving through parts of Henderson and Panola counties.

Stay weather aware if you’re in the path of these storms and let us know what conditions you’re seeing in your area.

East Texas weather is about to switch gears next week. 🌩️

We’ve got several days in the forecast showing increased storm chances starting Tuesday and continuing through much of next week.

Now’s the time to:
✔️ clean debris from valleys/gutters
✔️ secure loose patio furniture/trampolines
✔️ check for existing roof issues before heavy rain finds them
✔️ make sure tree limbs aren’t hanging over vulnerable areas

A small issue during a dry week can become a major leak during a storm pattern.

Hopefully the severe weather stays minimal, but if East Texas gets hit, Atwood Roofing will be ready to help however we can.

Stay weather aware and stay safe.”

Some doors close so the right ones can open.

Earlier this year, a change in my career path gave me the push I needed to stop building someone else’s dream and start building my own.

I’m Jeremy Eppes — husband, father of four, and founder of Atwood Roofing. I spent years in financial services, logistics, and sales management across East Texas. I know systems, I know people, and I know what it means to do a job the right way the first time. When the opportunity came to go all in on something of my own, I didn’t hesitate.

Atwood Roofing was built from the ground up right here in East Texas — not as a side hustle, but as a generational business. Built on integrity, transparency, and a simple belief that your home deserves to be treated like our own.
If you need a roofing company you can actually trust — we’d love to earn that trust.

Built Strong. Built Right.

Wednesday afternoon update — storms are back in the area.

Getting some heavier rain moving through parts of Longview / White Oak right now, with stronger cells showing up around Kilgore and over toward Marshall.

Like we saw yesterday, these systems can shift quickly—some areas get hit, others barely see anything.

I’ll keep an eye on it as it moves through this evening. If you’re out and about, just stay weather-aware.

⚠️ 6:40 PM update — storms moving through, but uneven

These are the current radar images and forecasts for the next couple hours. You can see the forecast times along the bottom of the pictures.

Radar is showing rain over Longview right now, but depending on where you are, you may not be seeing much actually hitting the ground yet.

That’s pretty common with lighter bands like this—some of it doesn’t fully reach the ground or just hasn’t filled in yet.

Here’s how it’s looking over the next couple hours:
• Light to moderate rain moving through the area
• Heavier cells trending south and east
• Conditions can still shift, so worth keeping an eye on it

If you’re out in it, take it slow and let it pass.

I’ll update again if anything strengthens.

⚠️ 5:40 PM Tuesday — another round moving in

This is the radar right now and the forecasted line for 7:15.

Storms are building west of Longview and starting to push this direction.

We had storms move through the area Friday night, and in some cases that kind of damage isn’t obvious right away—another round like this can make existing issues worse.

If this line holds together, expect:
• Strong winds
• Heavy rain
• Possible hail
• Tornado watch still active

If you’re in Longview / White Oak / surrounding areas, don’t wait until it’s on top of you—be ready now.

I’ll keep an eye on this as it moves in and be out tomorrow checking anything that gets hit.

Stay safe tonight.

⚠️ Longview / East Texas – TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY

Storms are now pushing through the Gilmer area with active tornado warnings and moving toward Longview. I’m watching this live on radar right now and telling my kid at work in Gilmer to take shelter immediately!

This is not just rain—these cells are producing strong winds, heavy rain, and the potential for hail and tornado activity.

If you’re in Longview and surrounding areas:
• Get inside and stay away from windows
• Have a safe place ready (interior room, lowest level)
• Keep your phone charged and alerts ON

This system is moving in fast, so don’t wait until it’s on top of you.

Once this passes, I’ll be out checking areas that took the worst of it and helping homeowners figure out if there’s any damage.

If you need me after the storm, message me or call/text 903-242-8079

Stay safe tonight.
