🚨 Attention Homeowners 🚨

In the aftermath of the tornado, when families are trying to rebuild their homes and lives, we’ve been made aware that certain insurance adjusters are telling people not to hire Kirby Contracting. This is not only shameful—it’s a direct violation of Kentucky law.

Kentucky law is clear:
• It is illegal for an insurance adjuster to steer you away from the contractor of your choice.
• It is legal and proper for a contractor to confer with an adjuster on the scope of damage and cost after a claim has been filed. Any adjuster who tells you otherwise is lying, plain and simple. They do this not to help you, but to harm you—the insured.

Kirby Contracting has never been and will never be the “low-bid” contractor. Why? Because cutting corners and racing to the bottom only hurts homeowners in the long run. Our commitment is to do the best work possible with the right materials and proper standards—so your home is fully restored, not patched together.

If an adjuster, agent, or anyone representing an insurance company has tried to steer you away from using us—or any contractor of your choice—we need to hear from you. 🛑 How is this reasonable, State Farm? This is an actual scope of repair we received today. 🛑

According to State Farm, it makes more sense to individually remove and replace 432 shingles—one by one—rather than replace the entire roof.

📸 Just look at this scope. Instead of acknowledging the obvious need for a full roof replacement, they’re lowballing homeowners with a patch job that’s not only inefficient, but completely impractical and unrealistic.

💸 Labor alone for this repair is sky-high, and it still leaves the home vulnerable. No professional roofer would ever recommend hand-replacing hundreds of individual shingles on a steep roof—especially after storm damage.

This isn’t how insurance is supposed to work. Homeowners pay premiums for peace of mind, not to be nickel-and-dimed when disaster strikes.

👉 If your claim is being delayed, denied, or downplayed like this, don’t settle. You deserve better.

Let’s set the record straight.

We’ve seen the list being passed around by a local insurance agency recommending a handful of roofing and restoration contractors for tornado damage. And to be fair — most of those guys are solid. We’ve worked with some of them. They’re good at what they do, and we have no problem saying that.

But here’s the truth:
You are not required to use anyone on that list. That’s a recommendation — not a requirement.
