Instead of following the old take-make-discard model, we harvest materials from demolition sites, giving them new purpose and reducing waste.

Long before the production lines, it was just us, a garage, a terrace, and a belief that construction waste could become something more.

These photos take us back to the very beginning of Matterpieces: building our own moulds, mixing reclaimed materials by hand, testing ideas, making mistakes, and learning from every batch.

No factories. No established processes. Just curiosity, experimentation, and the determination to give discarded materials a new life.

On the outside, it’s a brutalist pyramid engineered from our high-density reconfigured matrix. But look closer, the core is sliced open to let a warm, atmospheric light channel through the stone.

This piece was crafted by our master artisan and collaborator, Mármores Melos, whose exceptional craftsmanship helps transform reclaimed materials into unique and lasting pieces.

Most people see a mess and look away. We look closer, grab the dust, and turn it into a solid architectural statement 🏭

That chaotic mess is actually where the texture’s soul is hiding. We crush it, compress it, and force those raw particles to live together as a new, heavy material identity. And just like that, what was left behind is suddenly ready to find a new home.

A soft pink base shaped by something much deeper🪐

Matter Saturn emerges from the encounter between warm brick powder and sharp mineral fragments reclaimed from the built environment. The result is neither uniform nor predictable. Its texture is dictated by the materials themselves, revealing traces of their previous lives and creating a surface rich in depth, contrast and character.

Nothing here is purely pastel. Every fragment tells a story.
