Had to pull nightshift for a couple days last week. A couple days of weird sleep schedule is way better than building an entire duct system in a 130° loft lol. It was still hot with my head up in the peak of the building but way better than in the middle of a 97° day!

Pumpkin is our dog of the week for this week and last. He's a little weird looking for a dog (some kind of asian breed we think) but we brought him home with us anyway to keep on the homestead.

We found him and one of his siblings abandoned on a build site in the middle of the woods. His brother bit me like his life depended on it when I grabbed him (fang went straight through my fingernail) which made me let go and we never saw him again, but Pumpkin was much nicer. He was much smaller than his brother and just skin and bones, but just a few days later he's already looking much healthier.

Herbert is definitely our dog of the week. I think he's some kind of miniature chihuahua mix breed. A good boy but a bit skittish - he didn't like being pet very much.

Found him trapped in the plenum box when we got to the jobsite. Laid a shovel down in there and he took about 15 seconds to figure out how to use it to climb out and made it outside safely (this house is not being lived in and I'm not an exterminator).

Cleaning out your mini split drain line at least once a year is a simple thing you can do that will keep you from having to go without AC because your drain pan is overflowing and leaking down the wall. We're always happy to do it for you as part of a tune up, but if you have a wet/dry shop vac you can even do it yourself.

Just find where the line ends outside, put your hand around the gap between your vac hose and the drain hose and give it a good suck and that will usually get out all the gunk that accumulates in the line.

Here at JG Hall HVAC (and electric) we definitely DO NOT work on generators, ESPECIALLY in the middle of the night during a raging thunderstorm!

Unless you ask very nicely and you're my wife (and I really would prefer not to be sweating in the dark with no power all night after a 12hr day of sweating to keep others from sweating).

Coil clean before and after.

lt's such a mundane thing from an HVAC guy's perspective that you don't think to take pictures when you do it, but I'm realizing now it makes for pretty effective marketing.

I'm like Don Draper but more handsome.

Happy birthday to our Employee of the Month Bo Hall! He's our highest earning and most productive employee.

He's also our lowest earning and least productive employee though so...

But that's ok, you'll always be my Top Guy little bro!

Luna is for sure our Dog of the Week. A very friendly, very tiny good girl. Just couldn't get her to hold still long enough for a selfie.

It has been a season for moisture issues. We keep running into stuff like this. Had another one where the homeowner had to run a dehu all the time or the carpet would be soaked. It's always a flaw in either the HVAC system or the design of the house.

You can have an AC system running perfectly fine, not oversized or short cycling, but it just can't handle the humidity load in the house and it leads to a cascade of other problems, including reduced life of the system due to rust.

Just another one of those problems that builders could solve with a bit more attention to detail, but that become a headache to deal with after the fact. No one wants to have to empty a dehumidifier every day, and it's expensive to install a dedicated one (and if the house needed it it should've been installed to start with).

But that's why we do what we do.
