Had lots of fun hanging out in this crawlspace to complete a small structural repair under a bathroom. Three of the floor joists were rotted and hanging out with no support. We sistered on new treated joists, poured two concrete pads, built a treated double 2x8 beam with 4x4 posts & jacked the floors up to level.

Today, we finished installing these LVP floors. A lot of effort went into preparing the floors, including removing & installing new underlayment in the kitchen/dining room, and then leveling the floors with self-leveling cement. We carefully planned the layout to center the planks in the hallway and avoid small slivers of flooring.

Here's the process we followed to achieve a precise level, non-pointed 4' x 2' floor tile installation. When installing tile on a concrete slab, missing any of these steps can lead to future issues.

1. Vacuum & mop concrete floors 2. Prime 3. Laser & evaluate floor levelness 4. Add self-leveling cement 5. Clean & prime floors 6. Add crack isolation membrane 7. Install tile w/ medium bed LFT thinset & leveling clips 8. Grout 9. Final clean
