Spring Break camping at Hamilton Branch State Park for my family this week! And nothing like an afternoon snack of jalapeño cheddar bread from Liberty Creek Sweets, grilled up on the blackstone and smeared with a little cream cheese. YUMMY! Be like me and come see them at Liberty Community Exchange Market on Saturday mornings in Liberty! Your afternoon hangry slump will thank you 🍞 🌶️❤️

Life is too short to grow boring vegetables! Come see me at Liberty Community Exchange Market this summer beginning April 4th to snag a limited supply of varieties you’ll not find at larger chains or even most mom and pop nurseries. These babies I’m up-potting are Arkansas Traveler tomatoes, they’ll be ready for your garden alongside unique varieties like Turkish Orange eggplant, Banana Legs tomatoes, gobstopper tomatoes, green globe artichokes, pippins golden wonder peppers, numex Joe Parker peppers, sugar rush peach peppers, pink sunrise calendula, silver slicer cucumbers, Persian Pickling cucumbers, zinnias of course, and rare varieties of nasturtiums that are the envy of beauty AND good for pest control (not to mention edible! Who doesn’t want flowers on their summer salads?!)

WHEW! Ran out of breath!

The sun is gorgeous, there’s black soil everywhere, my fingers smell like tomatoes, and I’m daydreaming about seeing all of your beautiful faces!

Come see us! This market will be amazing.
And even more so with you there! ❤️❤️❤️

So much muchness on the horizon! Nasturtium babies are some of my favorites the way they spring out of the soil with hands already fancy and full of joy celebrating their existence on earth.

Seedlings seem to have personalities.

Tomatoes yawn and stretch with what begins as a hesitation reaching for the sun.

Peppers bounce. Zinnia and Marigold seem to thumb their noses with a defiance that accentuates their beauty.

We can learn a lot of things from the flowers for sure. But for now- just remember not to step on the Mome Raths. ❤️

It’s almost March my lovely friends.

If you’re not following Roots and Refuge Farm over on YouTube- you should be. I really needed this inspirational chat about being reactive in this time of cultural alarm.

I hope I can help my ‘village’ to be responsive without being reactive.

As Jess says often ‘I do not need you to think the same as me in order to welcome you to my table.’

Hey gorgeous people! I’m helping with a dear friend’s heart project (which just happens to be one of my huge desires too!) and we’re so excited to do this for our community!

Come spend your Saturday mornings with us as either a vendor or a customer! I’ll have plant starts on offer for sure and there are many more great things we’re excited to have right here for our village.

BIG NEWS!!!!

🌻🌾 It’s Official, Liberty! 🌾🌻

We are so excited to announce the Liberty Community Exchange Market is coming to town!

📅 April 4 – October 24
🕘 Every Saturday | 9:00 AM – Noon
📍 In the empty parking lot by Dollar General in Liberty on 178

We’ll have rows of local vendors bringing:
🍅 Fresh produce & fruit
🌸 Plants & flowers
🍞 DEHEC-approved cottage food items
🧺 Handmade goods
🌻 Homemade treasures

No commercial resale items — just good, honest, local products from folks right here in our community.

There is something special about neighbors coming together. When we support local growers and makers, we strengthen our town in the best way.

Vendors — sign up begins February 23!
Message us for details.

We cannot wait to see families walking the rows, kids picking out flowers, and friends catching up over fresh baked bread. Let’s make this something wonderful for Liberty.

Follow our other page Liberty Community Exchange Market for all the updates.

Are you this blessed? This lucky? This well loved? I hope you are. I hope there is a place in your world that you can go and feel surrounded by warmth and peace.

My mom and I spent the day in my greenhouse. We started 1,000+ peppers of many varieties today. We both have soil under our nails, slight pinches in our shoulders, and the solace of purposeful time spent in eachother’s company.

As I was tidying up and getting ready to close the door for the night, I was overwhelmed with emotion for the potential new beginnings literally held in my hands.

The future nourishment of body and soul these plants will provide my family, my friends, customers who purchase them- all right here to begin.

To begin as if they were a flesh and blood child- surrounded by love. Surrounded in warmth and care inside panes of glass that Noel Adams built with mindful affection.

Soon there will be so many birthdays. So much green bursting into existence.

The wheel keeps turning. And despite the seemingly endless night, I’ve found myself in Wonderland once again.
