Meet Mason | Co-Owner of Ascend Properties & Services

From San Diego, California to Central Kentucky, Mason’s path to Ascend started long before the move across the country.

He began working in construction at just 20 years old, getting his start as a commercial framer and carpenter. Since 2021, he’s continued building his hands-on experience in the trades and developing the craftsmanship and work ethic he brings to every Ascend project.

At the end of 2024, Mason traded California for Kentucky, relocating to join his brother-in-law, Jason, and help build Ascend Properties & Services.

As Co-Owner, Mason brings a hands-on approach to the business. From framing and carpentry to problem-solving on the jobsite, he takes pride in the details and in creating work that’s built to last.

For Mason, joining Ascend wasn’t just a career move. It was an opportunity to build something alongside family and put his experience toward a business they could be proud of.

Carpenter. Builder. Business owner. Family man.

This is Mason, and he’s an important part of the craftsmanship behind Ascend Properties & Services.

Meet Jason | Owner of Ascend Properties & Services

Whether you’ve been following us or you’re new here, we thought it was time to reintroduce the man behind the business.

Jason is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a degree in Communications and a focus in Business. He has spent the last 12 years serving as a professional firefighter, including 8 years as a Captain—a role that has shaped the way he leads, communicates, solves problems, and takes responsibility for the people counting on him.

Alongside his career in the fire service, Jason has spent roughly 14 years working consistently in construction, building the hands-on experience and knowledge that ultimately became the foundation for Ascend Properties & Services.

Today, he brings those worlds together: the leadership and accountability of a Fire Captain, the experience of a seasoned builder, and the mindset of a business owner.

At Ascend, Jason believes the details matter. Showing up matters. Communication matters. And when someone trusts you with their home or investment, doing the job right isn’t optional—it’s the standard.

Proof that no space has to go to waste. 🐾

We transformed the unused space under these stairs into a custom little pup room for this handsome boy. Complete with finished walls, flooring, trim and recessed lighting.

It’s functional, makes use of space that otherwise would’ve been wasted, and judging by the new tenant… we’d say it’s already been approved. 🤎

We love finding creative ways to make every inch of a home work for the people, and pups who live there.

This one is a full transformation, and it’s one of those projects that reminds us why planning matters just as much as ex*****on.

Before we can even begin demo on the existing front entry, the new exterior wall has to be fully framed, structurally sound, and in place. In a typical build, demo comes first, the floor system is completed, and the door is set directly on that finished structure — but this project flips that process on its head.

Because the floor still has to be built up to perfectly meet the home’s existing interior height, the new wall has to be assembled and functioning before the full demo can even begin. That means the new double front door has to be planned with precision long before the “normal” steps ever happen.

This is the kind of project where being off by even a fraction can affect the entire final result. Every measurement, every cut, and every step has to be intentional.

We’re taking this home’s current entry and completely reimagining it with a larger footprint, a beautiful new double front door, and a brand-new front porch that will completely transform both the look and function of the space.

Projects like this challenge us to think differently — and those always make for the best before & afters.

This powder room came together beautifully in just 3 days — featuring custom marble tile, warm textures, rich tones, and timeless finishes that completely changed the feel of the space.

We love creating spaces that feel elevated, intentional, and built to last down to every last detail.

This bathroom tile is our most recent finish, and it’s all starting to come together.
