Pressure treated wood cannot be painted the day you build with it. It leaves the store too wet for paint to bond. Most PT lumber needs 4 to 12 weeks to dry out first.

If you built a deck, fence or porch this summer, October is when it is finally ready. Run the water bead test: sprinkle water on the wood. Beads up, still too wet. Soaks in, ready for primer.

Central Ohio exterior painting has a hard deadline and it is coming.

Latex paint needs surface temps above 50 degrees to cure right, overnight included. In Columbus that window usually closes by late October. Paint applied past it can fail in one winter: poor adhesion, cracking, peeling by spring.

If your siding, trim or fascia needed attention this year, October is the last reliable month to get it done. After that the smart move is to book for spring, not to force it.

Construction has not stopped. Bechtel is still hiring. 200,000 cubic yards of concrete are already poured. And Meta, Google and QTS are picking up the regional slack with their own builds.

This is why we carry a GC license on residential work. Paint over rot fails in a season. The right fix is carpentry first, then coatings. Most painting companies would have caulked it, painted it and let you find the problem again next summer.

If your trim, fascia or soffits are showing peeling or soft spots, get it looked at before winter locks the repair out until spring.

Local manufacturing plant, Columbus. Steel mezzanine and safety railing repaint as part of a full industrial interior package.

Safety yellow on railings is not decoration. It is OSHA visual compliance, and it has to hold up to forklifts, pallets and daily abuse. DTM primer, urethane topcoat, scheduled around production so the plant never stopped running.

Industrial work gets bid by substrate and coating system, not floor square footage. If your contractor quotes one number for the whole building, ask what is actually in it.
