Q: Can you apply a coating over old, painted concrete?
A: That a firm "NO". A coating is only as strong as what it is bonding to. If we coat over old paint, our premium materials will stick to the paint, not the concrete—and when that old paint inevitably flakes off, our floor goes with it. We use heavy, planetary diamond grinding machinery to completely strip away every trace of old paint (or coatings), glue, or sealer, exposing the raw concrete substrate underneath.

Berkeley (a new blend for us in 2025) moved fast into our Top 8 blends. The blend uses 7 different chip colors and we throw those chips over a medium gray base color.
