TMG Construction Corporation

TMG Construction Corporation Corporate news and project updates for TMG Construction Corporation, a leading design-build and IDIQ contractor with offices in the Mid-Atlantic US.

Incorporated in 1992, TMG performs work primarily in secure campus environments, such as federal government facilities, military bases, airports, schools, and other public sites. Projects have involved millions of square feet of interior renovations that range from high-end architectural finishes to ADA upgrades to full-scale build-outs of offices, multi-media conference facilities, command centers, select retail outlets, and airport concessions. Our highly evolved and proprietary project management software, systems, and procedures enable our project teams to work in occupied facilities with minimal disruption to 24/7 operations. TMG is currently performing as the Prime Contractor under repeat contracts with the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Aviation Administration, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, National Joint Powers Alliance, National Park Service, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Northrop Grumman, US Postal Service, and the US Army Corps of Engineers. In addition, we have completed multiple projects for clients of the General Services Administration, including the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of the Interior, Department of Veterans Affairs, and the US Geological Survey, among others. TMG employs a full staff of project managers, superintendents, quality control engineers, and safety officials, as well as a workforce of craft employees who self-perform architectural and civil-related trade work. For most interior renovations, TMG combines managerial, supervisory, and in-house craft talents with the resources of trade-specific experts to provide our customers with advantageous economies of scale. Our customers depend on TMG’s effective management of submittals, scheduling, RFIs, problem solving, and our project management suite of activities to proactively deal with the complexities of mission-critical build-outs, along with the technical breadth of our most trusted subcontractors.

The Dedicated Fire System Surge Prevention project at Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) hit two milestones in the matter of just two weeks. TMG was able to successfully perform an overnight outage while installing the new segment of 18-inch DIP DFS and associated valves. Just one week after the successful shutdown, TMG was able to deliver and install the Surge Prevention Vault without complication. Another successful project at IAD!

TMG has reached substantial completion of a mission-critical upgrade of the electrical and cooling infrastructure integral to IT computing power at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Satellite Operations Facility (NSOF) in Suitland, Maryland. In addition to dramatically increasing the critical cooling, UPS, and emergency power generation capacity, the scope involved major reconfiguration of the interior layout of the third floor and the basement to create additional computer rooms and support spaces. The crack project team installs three new 2500 kW generators, four 400-ton chillers, three 600-ton cooling towers, 24 CRAC units, 48 IRCs, and 22 PDUs on a fast-track schedule.
