🏠A Chimney Chase Cover Needs to Fit — Not Be Patched to Fit
This Cedar Park homeowner contacted us because of a leak around their chimney. Once we inspected it, the problem became pretty obvious.
When the Hardie siding was previously installed, the existing chimney chase cover no longer fit correctly. Instead of replacing it with a properly sized cover, it was cut, bent, patched, and sealed in an attempt to make it work.
It didn’t. Water eventually found its way in.
We removed the old chase cover, installed the proper trim around the top of the chimney, and fabricated a new chimney chase cover specifically to fit the chimney correctly.
The before-and-after pictures tell the story.
Sometimes stopping a leak isn’t about adding more caulk or another patch. It’s about fixing what wasn’t done correctly in the first place.
