Welcome back to Manic Monday! The end is near and this is the last of the sphagnum moss! This section was a struggle, since it was the only grouping submerged in water. It took me a lot of time to decide if I wanted it similar to the other sections or try to portray it how it looks. Sometimes you just have that moment when it's time to walk away instead of over working it. This was was definitely one of those times.

I have a surprise for today, I finished the painting! I need to flip it right side up, sign it, and remove the tape. But I can’t believe it’s finished! Now I need to figure out what to do next!

The rocks are so close to finished! They need another round of white once it’s dried and then touch ups!

Rocks! I’m still adding in the undertones and getting the texture. It looks so colorful! After I add the white it will smooth out a little. I’m so close to finishing!

Welcome back to Manic Monday! I'm getting close to the end of this painting! I thought this might be the second to last Manic Monday on this painting, but this section took longer than I expected. You have me working on this for a few more weeks. I'm really loving the pops of purple and the eye flow that it brings. I can't wait to see the end.

About to start working on editing Manic Monday, I was admiring the most recent sections. I’m really happy with how well my pencil lines are blending in. Just one more week and this painting should be done! Then what should I do next?

Adding shadows onto the rocks today. Trying to cover the pencil lines while filling in some gaps that weren’t in the reference photo. It’s really starting to get some dimension. Im definitely going to have this finished next week!

Short window to paint today, but I’m loving the texture on this rock! It’s a big chunk of tufa and I’m really loving the variety of texture and color in these rocks. I love a challenge!

Rocks! Plus a rework of the sphagnum moss. I’m so excited to finally get to the last section of the is painting! This tufa rock has a lot of interesting textures and colors, it’s going to be fun to work on 😁. (Also please excuse the jets in the background)
