There’s finally a little chill in the air in the early mornings here in Las Vegas, which means we can pretend fall is coming. Eventually.

September’s Cemetery Pulp calendar features Danielle Schrudder, owner and creator of Vyla’s Vials.

Danielle creates cruelty-free, handmade jewelry from precious metals, Swarovski crystals, and ethically sourced materials. Her work also celebrates the strange and beautiful world of insects and spiders, incorporating naturally deceased specimens into distinctive pieces of wearable art.

This image took considerably more patience than it might appear. I walked across the bridge in the heat and humidity, then waited nearly half an hour for the sunset to develop. The final photograph is a 15-image HDR panoramic composite, assembled from multiple exposures to capture the full breadth of the scene, from Bally’s illuminated architecture to the glowing sky reflecting across the river and Sam’s Town. Bally’s and Sam’s Town are now sister properties in Shreveport, making the scene a particularly fitting portrait of the riverfront.

3 lights and no AI. Just careful lighting, thoughtful styling and an incredible subject.

Meet Pete of Coffin Customs.

Every workshop has that one person who quietly makes the impossible happen. At Cemetery Pulp, that's Pete. Armed with grinders, saws and an endless supply of determination, he handcrafts the coffin-shaped shelves, boxes and custom furniture that give the shop its unmistakable character.

I wanted this portrait to capture the intensity of his work. The sparks, the shadows and the relentless craftsmanship that goes into every piece.
