With single-ply rolls getting, bigger, wider and heavier, rolling out membrane and cutting around many vent stacks can be difficult, time consuming and more labor intensive. Instead consider the following alternative.

After installing the insulation and/or cover board, cut each vent stack to an inch to an inch and a half over the surface. Roll out the membrane covering the pipes, and then cut around each of the shortened vent stacks. Then reach for a Tubos Pipe Extension and bring each to a code compliant height.
