Compared to steel and concrete, CLT is up to 75% lighter—which can significantly reduce foundation requirements and overall structural cost.

Because CLT is manufactured offsite, construction is less impacted by cold-weather conditions and on-site sequencing constraints. The result is shorter on-site durations, fewer weather delays, and more predictable schedules.

Timber stair towers are being set on site at Colby College, marking an important milestone in the build.

QB Timber Towers are prefabricated structural systems designed to bring strength, schedule certainty, and efficiency to multi-story projects.

CLT mass timber towers are a competitive alternative to concrete masonry and are innovating commercial prefab buildings.

That time QB picked up shovels to keep the job moving. ❄️

During construction of The Nines Apartments in downtown Allentown, winter delivered a snowstorm with up to 18 inches of accumulation—right as the building was going vertical. Sound familiar?

“Even though snow removal was not part of the QB scope of work, they diverted manpower to keep the project moving forward on schedule.”

Snow removal became part of the work—the part that kept momentum going.

Advanced planning, early coordination, and off-site prefabrication allowed the project to move smoothly from floor to floor, even under winter conditions.

When the storm hit, the team cleared access and kept work progressing, supported by just-in-time deliveries of prefabricated wall panels manufactured offsite.

Sometimes it looks like leadership in the field—and a shovel or two.

Before materials are ordered or schedules are finalized, there’s a critical phase where decisions set the tone for everything that follows.

Bob Dressler, Chief Estimator at Quality Buildings, works at that point in the process — helping teams align scope, cost, and constructability early through design-assist and preconstruction.

By supporting owners, construction managers, and design teams with clear pricing logic and disciplined quantity takeoffs, Bob helps reduce uncertainty and support informed decision-making.

His work happens early, but its impact carries through the entire build.

Proud to support Lancaster Lebanon Habitat for Humanity on this project in Columbia, PA.

This 13,000 sq. ft. building will provide 5 new homes—designed to support affordable housing through thoughtful, efficient construction.

QB is providing the prefabricated framing package, helping streamline the build process while supporting quality, safety, and predictability in the field.

Projects like this are a reminder that how we build matters—especially when the goal is strengthening communities.

⭐️Throwback Project Highlight: 40TEN | Baltimore, MD

Before mass timber became mainstream, projects like 40TEN helped set the standard.

Completed in 2023, 40TEN, 4-story, a 105,000 SF office building, is Baltimore’s first modern mass timber office building and a key component of The Collective, a mixed-use development by 28 Walker in the Canton neighborhood.

QB was proud to perform the mass timber installation, bringing precision, sequencing, and field ex*****on to a project that helped prove mass timber’s viability in an urban office environment.

Now featured on the WoodWorks Innovation Network (WIN), 40TEN remains a strong example of how thoughtful design, structural clarity, and expert installation come together to deliver modern timber construction at scale.
Projects like this paved the way for what’s now possible in mass timber.
