✔ Minimum Living Area: ADUs must be at least 300 sq. ft. (Your existing 10’ x 24’ shed = 240 sq. ft. → too small to qualify).
✔ Architectural Compatibility: The ADU must match your main home in style, materials, colors, and landscaping.
✔ Homestead Requirement: The property must be your homestead for at least 1 year.

Some years ago, we met a charming couple who were house hunting with a growing family in mind. Although the property we showed them wasn't the perfect fit, their positive energy was infectious. Last month, we were thrilled to bump into them again in their neighborhood, where they were in the midst of a backyard revamp and kindly asked for our assistance. Their genuine thankfulness came in the most delightful form - warm, gooey cookies and a sweet note - leaving a lasting impression on us, and reinforcing our trust in the ripple effect of good deeds.
