When designing your yard, the best way to make the most out of your space is to create distinct areas—dining, relaxing, play, etc. here are some ways you can create those areas:

🍃 Hardscape: Use patios, walkways, and decks to define areas.
🍃 Plantings: Strategically place trees, shrubs, and flowers to create boundaries.
🍃 Fencing or Walls: Use these to separate areas or create privacy.
🍃 Outdoor Furniture: Arrange furniture to delineate different spaces.

Tips for heading (pruning) your shrubs to make them grow thicker!

🍃 Start with clean tools. Clean garden tools between uses to keep from spreading diseases use 1:10 ratio bleach to water and soak for 30 minutes
🍃 With hand pruners, trim long, unbranched stems by cutting
just above a healthy bud.
🍃 Find a branch with a bud facing the direction you want new
growth to follow.
🍃 Prune just above that bud at a 45-degree angle, no more
than 1/4” from the bud

You’ll see the branch “crown” or split into multiple smaller branches after trimming, making for a thicker, happier shrub
