🔌 Sometimes your home just needs a refresh!

We recently helped a wonderful customer update their home by replacing outlets, switches, bathroom exhaust fan/light combos, light fixtures, and ceiling fans. We also upgraded select areas with modern wireless switches and outlets for added convenience. Also for their convenience we added fan speed controls and to help set the ambience we added some dimmers.

I strongly advise against the use of these two electrical devices/connectors. The blue device, utilized to protect and secure wires when entering a knockout, poses significant challenges during repairs or device replacements due to its difficulty in removal, which can lead to wire damage. The other device depicted, commonly referred to as a 'wago', falls short of optimal standards. I call them 'let goes'. Proper electrical connections require wires to be twisted and capped with suitable wire nuts. Failure to adhere to this standard with devices like wagos can result in loose connections, leading to arcing and potential fire hazards. These devices are among the most frequent repairs I conduct annually. If given the authority to modify the National Electric Code, I would advocate for the prohibition of both types of connectors.

Another project knocked out ✔️

This home got some great upgrades including:

• Updated bathroom exhaust fans
• Added recessed kitchen lighting
• Installed (4) 8" recessed garage lights (3,000 lumens each)
• Added dimmer switches
• Installed a Ring security camera
• Added a dedicated refrigerator circuit
• Changed out ceiling fans
• Plus a few additional electrical upgrades
