What an incredible week at the 2026 Outer Banks Parade of Homes! 🏡

We want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by to tour our home in Southern Shores! It was such a pleasure welcoming you inside, sharing our work, and hearing all of your wonderful feedback.

A lot of hard work, craftsmanship, and attention to detail goes into bringing a custom home to life, and getting to share the finished product with our community is always one of our favorite parts.

Also a big shout out and thank you to our wonderful artists who kindly shared their beautiful artwork, adding an extra special touch to this home!

We’re so grateful to our homeowners for opening their doors, our talented team and trade partners who helped bring it all together, and everyone who came out to support us.

Until next year!

We had the opportunity to join WAVY News to talk about the 2026 Outer Banks Parade of Homes, building here on the Outer Banks, and what makes this event so special each year.

This year marks our sixth consecutive year participating in the Parade of Homes, and we’re incredibly grateful to once again open the doors to one of our homes and share what we love to do with our community.

A little behind the scenes at one of our Southern Shores builds! Getting drywall into place takes some heavy lifting, but it’s all part of the process of bringing a home from plans to reality. We love sharing the steps you don’t always get to see that go into building a Croatan Custom Home.

From an empty lot to a home taking shape.

There’s something special about watching a build come to life step by step. What started as a vision on an open lot has moved through the early stages of construction, and now we’re officially in framing.

This is where you can really start to see it all come together, the layout, the rooms, the roofline, and the home that’s been planned from the very beginning.

More progress to come!

It’s not just the finished home. It’s everything that happens before you get the keys.
Clear expectations from the beginning. Consistent communication throughout the build. An organized process that keeps things moving. And a team that understands building a home is a big investment, both financially and personally.
We believe the experience of building your home should feel just as intentional as the home itself.
That’s the Croatan difference.
Planning. Communication. Systems. Relationships.

From the Outer Banks to the Inner Banks 🏡

Croatan Custom Homes owner Austin Kelly had the honor of serving as a judge for the 2026 Inner Banks Parade of Homes, getting an inside look at some of the craftsmanship, design, and building happening just beyond the Outer Banks.

Build your vision with Croatan Custom Homes!

Every great home starts with the right piece of land. Before the plans, finishes, and final details, we take the time to evaluate the property, understand the site, and plan a home that works with the land.

Have a lot in mind or still looking for the right one? We can help you take it from vacant land to a place you call home.

A few Outer Banks rental seasons can really put a home to the test.

After years of beach vacations, happy guests, and plenty of use, this home still looks just as good as when we handed over the keys.

That’s what we mean when we say built to withstand. Quality materials, thoughtful construction, and craftsmanship designed for life on the Outer Banks, and built to hold up season after season.

Thinking about building on the OBX? Let’s talk.

The Signature Croatan experience is about more than building a beautiful home, it’s about creating a better experience from start to finish.

Clear communication, thoughtful planning, quality craftsmanship, and support every step of the way.

These aren’t marketing ideas. They’re commitments.

The Marshlight is taking shape! ✨🌾

Framing is well underway, the floor plan is starting to come to life, and some of the siding is already going up.

We have a few homes in the framing stage right now, so there’s plenty of progress happening across our job sites.

Follow along as we bring The Marshlight and our other projects to life!
