I about forgot to share the before & after of a recent deck restoration. First few pics are of the rough shape of improper stain adhesion, then after the wash and stripping, then when it was dry and sanded and finally after application of an oil based dark walnut stain.

Deck restoration underway in Gate City, VA.
This is the result of covering the underside and no slope for water to drain. It made the deck rot and the metal rust and yep, it still ended up leaking.

Deck restoration underway. Had to strip away a layer of water based acrylic stain that ended up creating a layer of plastic that peeled off. Blasted it and tomorrow will sand and prep for application of a deep penetrating oil based stain.

Wrapped up a pressure washing job today that turned into repairing the cold water supply valve at the spigot. Fortunately for us, I had some packing graphite on the van that plugged the leak to get the job done.

Up next a deck restoration in Virginia.

Looks like we are pretty booked up till September, but don’t hesitate to reach out for small jobs we can squeeze in. -Alex
