Owning and running a business is hard to understand unless you’ve lived it.
It’s lying awake at night solving problems that haven’t happened yet. It’s constantly feeling like something is chasing you, payroll, deadlines, overhead, taxes, customers, and the responsibility of making sure your people have work tomorrow.
It’s taking risks most people aren’t willing to take, making decisions without guaranteed outcomes, and carrying responsibilities most people never see. When things go well, everyone gets paid. When things go wrong, the owner absorbs it.
Business owners aren’t asking for sympathy. We chose this life, and we’re proud of what we’re building. But successful businesses don’t happen by accident. They exist because someone was willing to risk their money, sacrifice their time, lose sleep, and keep going when quitting would have been easier.
Be grateful for the businesses that invest in their communities, create opportunities, and provide jobs. Behind every paycheck is someone who took a chance and continues taking chances every single day.
