⚠️ SEVERE WEATHER ALERT — TONIGHT INTO EARLY WEDNESDAY ⚠️
The National Weather Service has issued a Level 3 of 5 severe thunderstorm risk for the southern Edwards Plateau and western Hill Country — and retired meteorologist Richard McAlister is calling it potentially "one of the most dangerous days of our entire severe weather season."
Conditions deteriorate through the afternoon and intensify by evening. The peak threat hits overnight while most people are asleep — when, McAlister notes, storm fatality rates essentially double.
Primary threats:
🌨️ Very large hail (2"+ diameter) — the #1 hazard
🌪️ Tornadoes and damaging winds
🌧️ Flash flooding possible on the Edwards Plateau and Hill Country
Do these things TODAY:
✅ Park vehicles under cover
✅ Bring in patio furniture, pets and livestock
✅ Stock your bathroom with a flashlight, radio, helmet, meds, gloves and safety glasses
✅ Keep your shoes on tonight
✅ Make sure you have an alert that will wake you up

Incredibly grateful to share that Chris Hill and his team from Pico Propane have gone above and beyond once again. They’ve returned, and this time with even more fuel and additional tanks to help keep our first responders and SAR teams running strong through this crisis. 1400 gallons of highway and off-road diesel, with another 500 gallons of unleaded headed our way tomorrow.

Their generosity and unwavering support mean more than words can express. In times of disaster, it’s people like Chris who remind us what true community looks like.

In the midst of so much loss and devastation, the kindness of others continues to shine through.

Chris Hill and his incredible team from Pico Propane rolled in with their convoy, bringing much-needed fuel, tanks, and generators to our search and rescue teams. They showed up without hesitation ready to help, ready to serve.
