Goodmorning breakfast with the abandoned and feral kitties 😸
feeding hasnt been the same this week with our foster Jack. I don't get much time to spend with the kitties. I didnt realize how much the kitties appreciate the attention and love as much as they appreciate the food. Seeing all my kitties run to me and rub all over me has been such a blessing. I really do love every single one.

update on my 10 month of foster giant Jack!

Jack enjoys long walks on the beach (or anywhere he just likes to explore). Loves toys and chews. Enjoys playing in the water and his absolute favorite thing is hugs or snuggles.

Transport was supposed to be here Tuesday morning to pick him up.. Thursday they let me know they would not be comming the transport broke down and may or may not be comming sometime next week.

Jack needs a home. This was only supposed to be a 2 night stay and Jack is starting to feel like hes home and its not fair to make him keep moving around after this 😕

Jack is a 10 month old great dane mix. He is neutered and utd on shots, loves all dogs and is learning how to be calm with cats. He loves kids and people in general and has a strong great dane personality. His natural instinct is to protect whoever hes with.

Help me get Jack a new forever home ❤️

Goodmorning update on my giant foster pup!
He got morning zooooomies!

He is still with me not for sure how much longer unfortunately 😔 he is such a joy to have around. Hes got such a wonderful crazy personality and we are in love. If we could afford to more than double the dog food and guarantee my dogs would get along with him we would 100 % keep him 😭

We beleive he is a great dane mix between his shape, hips, and temperament. This sweet boy is a quick learner and eager for adventure and stimulation. I mean hes a 10 month old giant that lost his family, ended up in the shelter, got pulled to be placed with other dogs waiting for humans to have space for transport, then a kennel because he wanted to be around people, now hes finally inside with humans AND dogs again and hes just relieved.

Jack did not hesitate to come with me and he hasnt looked back at all, thats how uncertain his life has been, he was just ready to move on to the next chapter. No idea what was comming next just "alright let's go"

He didnt seem to know much about being indoors, at least for long periods of time. The first day anytime we went outside for potty breaks he'd do his thing and then go lay on the dog bed in the patio. He'd act so surprised i was like let's go back inside.

He quickly learned he goes back in and now waits at the gate when hes ready to be done outside. He desperately wants children or other dogs to play with and I dont have kids or dogs that are ready to play with him.

It took him all of 5 minutes to be willing to protect everyone in this house. The first walk he went on high alert and guarded me theough a fox territory. Any noise he hears he investigates in the windows. Last night the neighborhood dogs were doing their late night boofing and howling and he was more than happy to let everyone know he was there too. No constant yap just one loud, deep and ferocious woof.

That bark was confidence.

His zoomies are happiness.

He is feeling safe and I don't know how to be okay taking that away from him when its not to give it right back in the form of his new family.

Being a temporary placement before another temporary placement is really hard. The uncertainty of his future breaks my heart 😞

(Psa- I know that bone is small for him, its not small for my dogs. i removed it after he found it and played with it for a minute because I hate taking chances. Its normally inside a tire but my dogs must have taken it out when playing last night.)

I hate being a temporary placement for a dog thats moving to another temporary place after me. Being in limbo and possibly ending back up in a shelter and on another euthanasia list sucks to put it lightly.

I usually don't get involved this way because I need to know the guaranteed outcome for an animal before I give them to their new home. I kmow I can provide the care needed but I dont trust many others to do the same.

I have OCD and not knowing what will happen next for him really messes with me which is why i don't usually do this. Me and my mental health are well acquainted and while this might disable me for a few weeks when he leaves I would do it again and again and again just to be able to say i was a welcome home full of love for him no matter where his story leads.

Im torn on attempting to long term foster while he looks for a home but my dogs also deserve my time and attention and doing this for a long period of time can cause issues in my own dogs if they didnt accept him and be able to interact.

I cant guarantee that 100% interaction can happen because I have a reactive dog whose on the fence about Jack. Hes torn between wanting to herd him out the door and hey maybe we could be friends.

If he starts leaning on the "I want you gone" interacting freely is not possible. If he leans on the "hey you might be okay" they could be great friends but I don't really have enough time to find out which way he will lean.

Full on interactions would have to go slow and over time, time we don't have. Jack needs attention, training, consistency and alot of patience. Hes a puppy. My reactive dog is very possessive of my time, attention and affection.

Hes doing way better than expected but pushing it would set him back and thats unfair to him. We worked so hard to get him here after rescuing him from horrible conditions last year.

Im just torn.

Jack is a 10 month old giant puppy. Located in kern county at the moment but will soon be heading from california to tennesee in search of his new home. he wants nothing more than to accompany you on your every adventure including the couch.

he loves all dogs even if they don't love him. he's submissive and eager to learn or play. hes a chewer and a puppy so hes going to need patience and training but he is very easily corrected.

we don't know his history but he doesn't seem to have been indoors before. while he's loving it he doesn't know how to ask to go outside or hold it for any amount of time.
he hasn't missed a puppy pad yet and with consistent potty breaks he does go outside.

with a few months of consistency, patience and stability he will be the absolute best dog you've ever had.

If anyome has even the slightest interest i am more than happy to share every detailed ive learned about him to see if he could be your new best friend!

He's very resourceful 👏 and not afraid of the hose at all

Update 2 on my 10 month old foster giant ❤️

We went on a walk this morning and he did very well. He does want to investigate but is easily moved forward. If hes not checking things out hes glued to your legs.

Hes got a very good nose and immediately went on guard once we approached a fox territory. He found the s**t that was left openly on several rocks forming a circle. Determined the area wasn't safe and guarded me all the way back to what he determined was safe again.

Then went back to his curious self. Hes a puppy so he wants to check out and try everything but he listens very well and corrects easily.

Update #1 on the 10 month old foster puppy I volunteered to temporarily foster so he wasn't euthenized

He's gorgeous and huge and a giant dummy. I am absolutely smitten. I wish we could afford another addition because he is wonderful.

My reactive dog is even quickly warming up to the idea of playing which was so surprising. Camo is a perfect puppy. He's extremely obedient and very eager to show submission and ask for play. He's very respectful of other dogs boundaries and listens the first time they say something. They're only interacting through a gate supervised at the moment but I think camo felt better seeing more dogs.

He's a giant puppy so hes energetic, clumsy and very curious about everything. He seems to immediately drop his focus once hes checked out whatever peaked his interest.

My outdoor kitties are very unsure of this giant thing I beought home and Mr mike is staying by the front door and getring very close when we go outside. He's ready to pounce on Camo if he makes one wrong move.

Camo however is just curious and not willing to cross the line to fulfill that curiosity. He smells around Mike and avoids getting too close. Good news is hes decently cat safe so far but thats not for sure yet. He's experiencing alot of new right now so hes calmer than he will be when hes settled into a home.

He absolutely loves affection and wants to be glued to a humans side. He'd love to play with the dogs if they want to but hes cool just snuggling up on the couch in your lap.
