Simple subjects, color that draws the eye, and stunning light effects... that's how I would describe my artwork. I have developed a strong interest in the minute details of natural objects and enjoy capturing those moments when light adds an almost ethereal quality to the subject. I live in the small desert town of Kearny, Arizona with my husband of 28 years and 4 children. We love the outdoors an
d try to be involved in trailriding, camping, fishing, hiking, boating or just playing with the kids and dogs as much as possible. Much of my subject matter is derived directly from time spent with my family outdoors. We also love designing, building and using our God-given resources to better our lives whenever possible. I began drawing when I was about 10 years old. I was keenly aware of what artistic skill and passion looked like at a young age because both of my grandfathers were phenomenal artists. They inspired me at a young age to develop my own passion for art, and to always acknowledge God's goodness and direction through my work. Along the way I learned a bit of theory and technique from art teachers in high school and college. As so often happens with creative endeavours, I put my artwork aside after college to take care of my children and pursue my career as a teacher. But, in recent years, my need to create has surfaced once again and now that my children are older, I have found a bit more time to feed that passion. And like icing on a cake, each of my children has demonstrated a true artistic talent and we enjoy drawing, painting and designing together.
