Your AC can flood your house while you’re not even home.

We’re seeing more and more calls for clogged AC condensate drains, and unfortunately, some homeowners don’t find out there’s a problem until water has already backed up and caused damage.

Your AC system produces a tremendous amount of condensation during a Texas summer. That water has to drain somewhere, and many systems tie into the home’s plumbing drainage system.

Over time, those drain connections can build up with algae, sludge, debris and buildup until they eventually stop draining.

That’s why we recommend having your AC condensate waste drain cleaned yearly.

A little preventative maintenance can help avoid:

🚿 Is your shower dripping even when it’s turned completely off?

A worn Moen shower cartridge could be the culprit.

Over time, hard water and everyday use can wear down the cartridge. The balancing spool inside can also collect mineral buildup and debris, causing:

🔧 A handle that becomes stiff or difficult to operate

Several years ago, we installed a new Bradford White water heater for this customer.

This summer, he reached back out because the pilot light kept going out. We responded within minutes and had a plumber there within an hour.

After checking the heater, we found nothing mechanically wrong. With attic temperatures around 145° and very little ventilation, the extreme heat was likely affecting the pilot.

Nothing to repair, so no charge for the visit.

For us, taking care of a customer doesn’t stop when the original job is finished. We want to be the plumber they know they can call years later.
