The most expensive assumption a homeowner can make after a storm is that the roof looks fine, so it must be fine. Hail and wind usually leave the shingles in place and take the protective layer instead, which is invisible from the driveway and very obvious from a ladder. The problem is that insurance claim windows do not wait for the damage to become visible. If a storm rolled through your neighborhood this season, get it documented now.

Gutters are the most skipped item on every homeowner maintenance list, and they are one of the cheapest ways to protect a roof. When water cannot get off the roof, it sits along the edge and works backward under the shingles instead. That is how a fall afternoon of cleaning turns into a fascia and decking repair. If you cannot remember the last time yours were cleared, this weekend is a good one. Not sure what you are looking at up there? We will take a look for free.

Good advice up front, follow through all the way to the end. Jakob's project ran start to finish without him ever having to chase somebody down for an update, which is the part most homeowners tell us they dread about a roofing job. Planning a project this year? Let us talk it through before you commit to anything. bluearrowroofing.com

Kansas City winters bring ice dams, and they cause a lot more damage than the icicles hanging off the gutter suggest. Snow melts higher up on the roof, runs down, and refreezes at the cold edge. That ridge of ice blocks the next round of meltwater, which backs up and works its way under the shingles until it finds a way into your ceiling and walls. Good ventilation and proper edge protection are what prevent it. Worth handling before the first hard freeze rather than after.

The hardest part about roof damage is that your roof will keep looking completely fine while it happens. From the ground, the shingle field can look perfectly uniform. Meanwhile the actual trouble is around the flashing, the pipe boots, the valleys, and underneath the surface where you have no way to see it. That is the whole reason a real inspection means getting up there instead of squinting from the yard. Ours are free and take about thirty minutes. bluearrowroofing.com

Honest. Hardworking. Communicative. That is what we hold ourselves to on every job, from the first phone call to the final walkthrough. Roofing has a reputation for the exact opposite, and we are working on fixing that one house at a time. Thanks for the kind words, Taylor.

This one meant a lot to us. A bad storm came through and Loria's aunt's home started leaking. Dominick was already working in the neighborhood, stopped the leak that day, then stayed on it until both the roof and the damaged ceiling were restored. Looking out for neighbors is not a slogan for us, it is the job.
