We’re excited to share another major step forward in building the future of career exploration for students!

Our Student Welcome & Onboarding Explainer Video is officially complete! 🎉

This short video is one of the very first experiences students will have after creating their Trade Talent Search account. Instead of simply signing in and figuring things out on their own, they’ll receive a guided walkthrough that prepares them for an engaging journey of discovering careers in the skilled trades.

Students will learn how to:

✅ Complete their profile
✅ Take the Student Onboarding Survey
✅ Discover careers that match their interests through the Trade Compass assessment
✅ Complete the Pre-Pilot Survey
✅ Earn points and badges by exploring careers, watching “Day in the Life” videos, completing activities, and interacting with our AI Career Coach

After months of planning, networking, listening, and refining our vision, I’m excited to share that the Trade Talent Search (TTS) MVP is officially in development.

Our mission is simple: help students discover high-paying, high-demand skilled trade careers before they graduate.

During our beta launch, thousands of middle and high school students will explore career pathways through an engaging, AI-powered platform designed to make career exploration interactive, inspiring, and relevant.

🚧 BIG NEWS! Development of Trade Talent Search (TTS) is officially underway! 🚧
Six months ago, Trade Talent Search was nothing more than a dream, a notebook full of ideas, and a belief that we could change how students discover careers in the skilled trades. Today, that dream is becoming reality.

Our web and mobile MVP (Minimum Viable Product) is officially in development and is expected to be completed in approximately 8 weeks—just in time for the 2026–2027 school year!

Even more exciting... we’ve already confirmed our middle and high school pilot programs, and we’ll be adding more schools as we prepare for beta testing.

Our MVP will introduce students to 30+ skilled, mechanical, electrical, energy, and industrial trades through features like:
�✅ AI-powered career guidance�✅ Interactive trade exploration�✅ Career badges and achievements�✅ Day-in-the-life trade experiences�✅ Employer and apprenticeship pathway information�✅ Student profiles and career interests�…and much more!

One thing I’ve learned over the past six months is that this isn’t just about building software.
It’s about building a movement.
We need educators who want to expose students to careers they may have never considered.
We need middle and high school students who are curious about their future and want to help shape the platform through our beta test.

We need parents who recognize the potential in their children and understand that success doesn’t follow just one path.
When most people hear “skilled trades,” they think of the “Big 3”—electricians, plumbers, and HVAC technicians.

The reality?

There are more than 30 incredible skilled trades that offer outstanding careers, excellent wages, entrepreneurship opportunities, and the chance to build the infrastructure our communities rely on every day.

That statement stopped me in my tracks.

When most people think about Artificial Intelligence, they picture ChatGPT, robots, or the latest software breakthrough.

But AI doesn’t exist without the physical world that supports it.

Every data center powering AI needs electricians to wire it, HVAC technicians to keep servers cool, heavy equipment operators to prepare the land, construction workers to build the facilities, truck drivers to move materials, welders to fabricate structures, and countless other skilled professionals to keep everything running.

AI may be the future, but the skilled trades are the foundation.

Yet we’re facing a growing crisis.

By 2030, the United States is projected to have more than 2 million unfilled skilled trade jobs.
