This project didn’t start with a paint color.

It started with a room that had simply seen better days.

Old wallpaper, cracked and peeling paint, and years of wear had taken their toll. Before anything new could go in, the old had to come out and the space needed some attention.

That’s the part of remodeling that doesn’t always make the pretty pictures, but it’s where a good transformation really starts.

It’s the range hood for us. 👀

We love when a homeowner chooses something that gives a kitchen a little personality, and this custom hood does exactly that.

It’s a simple detail, but it adds just the right amount of warmth and character to this kitchen.

Definitely one of our favorite details in this space.

The exterior season may be winding down, but things definitely aren't slowing down inside.

Fall is a great time to start talking about the projects you've been considering for the colder months—interior painting, kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, drywall, trim and other renovations.

You don't need every detail figured out before you call.

Sometimes the first step is simply walking through the space and talking about what isn't working.

New floors or fresh paint—which should come first?

It’s a question we get a lot, and the answer is… it depends.

What kind of flooring are we putting in? Are we replacing the trim? Do the walls need any repairs? Is this one room or part of a bigger renovation?

Those details matter, and figuring out the order before the work starts can save a lot of headaches later.

That’s also one of the benefits of having one team take care of more than one part of your project. We can look at the whole job, plan out what makes sense, and make sure one project doesn’t get in the way of the next.

A little planning upfront makes the whole renovation go a lot smoother.

Not every home or business improvement project needs a dumpster in the driveway.

Sometimes new trim changes the room.

Sometimes it's flooring.

A new door. Updated ceiling treatment or built-ins. Drywall repairs.

Fresh paint after years of wear.

Those smaller projects can make your home or business feel surprisingly different without turning everything upside down.

What's one small thing you've been meaning to update?

Before you mentally close the book on the outside of the house for the year, give it a quick walk-around.

Look closely at painted wood, trim and siding. Check for peeling paint, cracked caulk, exposed wood or spots where moisture may be getting in.

A small problem heading into winter has several months to become a bigger one.

If something doesn't look right, now is a good time to catch it.

We still have a few spots left in our fall schedule! Give us a call today!

Homes aren't the only places that need a refresh.

Offices, retail spaces, and other commercial properties take plenty of wear—and sometimes paint alone isn't enough.

Repairs, finish work, flooring, painting, and other improvements can often be coordinated as part of the same project, which means fewer moving pieces for the person responsible for getting it done.

That's something every busy property manager can appreciate.

Remodeling is messy.

Your entire house doesn't have to be.

Protecting floors, containing dust, keeping tools organized and cleaning up the work area aren't glamorous enough for the final photos, but they make a pretty big difference when you're still living in the house.

It's your home first. Our jobsite second.

Before ➡️ the part nobody puts on Pinterest ➡️ after.

We love a beautiful finished project, but the middle tells the real story.

Walls get opened. Old materials come out. Surprises occasionally show up. Then things slowly start going back together until that messy middle finally looks like a home again.

Here’s a little look at the process.

The finished project matters.

But the experience you have while the work is being done matters, too.

Communication, showing up when expected, keeping the jobsite organized and treating your home with respect are all part of the job.

We appreciate every homeowner who trusts McRoy with their home, and we work hard to make sure that trust is well placed from start to finish.
