We have been busy around here and have not posted much. We are still working through calls from the hail storm that hit Kalona. We are still taking on work for the year and are grateful for the continued support! We have been in Kalona since 2004 and we do not plan on going anywhere!!

What are your thoughts about this?
This is not roofing weather

I have made adjustments to the latest snowfall forecast as the system continues to show signs of strengthening, something I mentioned in my update yesterday. I intentionally held off on updating the snowfall map until I could review additional model data.

The cold front appears to move through the region sooner between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM. As colder air rapidly moves in behind the front, precipitation is expected to transition to snow, with heavy snow showers possible for several hours. Snowfall rates could reach around 1 inch per hour during the most intense bands.

With this update, much of the coverage area is now included in the 6–8 inch snowfall range, with the potential for locally higher amounts where the heaviest bands set up.

As mentioned in yesterday’s video update, the combination of heavy snowfall and wind gusts exceeding 60 mph could make travel very difficult to dangerous in some areas due to blowing snow and reduced visibility.

I will continue monitoring the latest model data and will provide additional updates if there are any changes to the forecast.
