This fir needed to come down as it had become vulnerable after recent construction in the area, leaving the tree and surrounding ground less stable than they were before.

Removing this tree not only put these homeowners at ease about the safety of their own home and the safety of the new ones being built below them but it opened up their view of the Columbia.

After the morning briefing on a wildfire, this is what we head back to grab before making our way to our assignment for the day.

Our team carries all of this on us while hiking through the woods to cut down hazardous trees on wildfires that happen every summer.

And this isn’t even everything, add lunch, a basic first aid kit, and a few other essentials to the load.

UPDATE: while loading the truck up to head home this morning (7/30) we got reassigned to a new fire. Jumped the gun on the announcement that we were headed home. We will continue to take calls and schedule estimates and work to be done, thank you for everyone that has been understanding and willing to work with us as we navigate these assignments & to those that have decided they can’t wait for their trees and property to be cleared we totally understand and hope you consider giving us a call again in the future should you need it.

Today (7/29) I came across one of those little things that stop you in your tracks , i found a note from my littlest dude at home that simply says “i miss you”

It reminded me that while im missing family dinners, the development of new inside jokes, real time updates on the girl drama and bed time routines they’re missing a part of those things too. Thankfully our crew is coming home tomorrow and we can get back to making those summer memories before we get our next assignment.

To all the spouses, kids, parents & loved ones supporting wildfire crews, we see you & appreciate you. ❤️

Sunday night, we were requested to assist as fallers on the Bologna Fire in Grant County, Oregon.

By 0600 Monday morning i had met up with my falling partner, had our equipment inspected, camp was set up and we were headed to briefing alongside an incredible group of men and women who are working tirelessly to get this fire under control.

Current status of Bologna Fire as of July 23rd :
🔥 2,700 acres
🟢 8% contained
⚡ Cause: Lightning
👨‍🚒 328 personnel assigned
🚒 9 engines
👨‍🚒 12 hand crews
🚜 18 pieces of heavy equipment

As always we appreciate all of your support and would not be able to be here without all of you.

We’ve been called out to respond to a wildfire & will be reaching out to all currently scheduled customers to reschedule appointments as soon as possible. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding.

We will continue taking calls, booking estimates and scheduling future projects while we’re away. However it may take a little longer than normal for us to get back to you but leave us a message or text & we promise we will get back to you as soon as possible and our work will be worth the wait!
