Working in creature comfort solutions so far today. Called Versant power and now I wait "within 5 business days" to be contacted to set up a free appointment for someone to come and see the property and what we'll need for installation. They will hopefully give me a price for that and then we decide if it's something we can afford doing right off or not. Then we need to find an electrician to wire the tiny house to the towns line. Then it's a $23 a month base charge for town power plus whatever we use for wattage which we'll keep low as we'll be able to use our solar for small device charging and lights still. We can use the town power as a backup for lights and charging things to keep the cost down. It would be really nice to have a fridge running all the time, the aquarium and know we have lights and charging capacity even on long stretches of cloudy weather. We can even get my apartment size washing machine and mini dishwasher here to make life a little easier. Once that's all sorted we can get internet and have a normal sized TV instead of only my tablet to watch shows and DVDs on. However...if it's too costly to get town power hooked up and an electrician we will then need to decide on saving up for it or putting that money towards a bigger solar set up. Whichever is more cost effective and gets us power sooner is the way to go. With winter coming and being inside a lot more, it'll be nice to not worry about electricity usage based on our very small solar set up. Here's to waiting and configuring.
