And I completely understand where a customer is coming from, but what they're paying for isn't simply the one hour on the job.
They're paying for 30+years it took to learn how to diagnose the problem, know exactly what needs repaired, having the right tools, and getting it done correctly & efficiently.
Experience has a funny way of making a difficult repair look easy! Sometimes the value isn't in how long the job took, it's in the knowing what to do, how to do it, and getting it right the first time.

🔧Not every job we tackle is inside a customer's home.

When you run a remodeling company, keeping the trucks on the road is just as important as keeping the jobs moving.

Besides kitchens, bathrooms, decks, windows, doors, and everything in between, we've always handled a good share of our own mechanic work and maintenance on our trucks too.

There's something to be said about knowing how to build it, fix it, maintain it, and keep it working. A little grease on the hands is just part of the job.

After all, these trucks haul all the tools, materials, and equipment that keeps us doing what we've been doing for over 32 years.

🔨 DEMO DAY! 🔨

Out with the old and making room for something much better. We started the morning with this aging deck and just two hours later, it was completely torn down and cleaned up.
Now we've got a clean slate for a larger, updated, modern deck that will give these homeowners more usable living space and a whole new look on the back of their home.
The chainsaw got a workout...and so did we.

Some guys collect tools...I wear mine out!

For the past 41 years, this Estwing 28 oz. stacked-leather rip-claw hammer has been in my hand. I bought it back in 1985, and it's been with me through thousands of jobs, millions of swings, and in more homes that I could ever count.

The leather handle has worn so much over the decades that it literally molded itself to my grip. I'm pretty sure it isn't a 28 oz. hammer anymore- it's probably closer to 27 oz. after 41 years of honest work.

I've tried newer hammers over the years, but they just don't feel right. Every nick, scratch, and worn spot tells a story of roofs framed, decks built, kitchens remodeled, windows installed, and dreams brought to life.

In a world where everything seems disposable, I'm thankful some things are built to last.

Here's to 41 years of swinging the same hammer...and hoping for many more!!
