PART 2: The Ultimate Solar Reset in La Grange, KY!

After stripping away the chewed wiring, loose junction boxes, and failing railless racking from Part 1, it was time to rebuild this system the right way.

Here’s how the Apollo Solar team turned this project around:

📐 Upgraded Mounts: Installed a secure, heavy-duty rail-based racking system built to handle Kentucky weather.

🐿️ Birds, squirrels, and a questionable install… a recipe for solar failure!

We recently got a call out to LaGrange, KY, after a homeowner noticed 3 to 4 of their Enphase microinverters went completely dark.

When our crew got up on the metal roof to inspect, we found a perfect storm:
❌ Chewed trunk cables & exposed wiring from squirrel/bird buildup
❌ Unsecured junction boxes & loose wires dragging on the roof
❌ A poor, railless racking setup causing shorts in the main breaker panel

Patching this up wasn’t going to cut it. After going over options with the homeowner, we decided on a complete Apollo Solar Reset—starting fresh with a rock-solid, rail-based mounting system, new panels, and new inverters built to last.
