Hello Friends,
This page exist to provide a portal to locally sourced and produced "gardening materials" to the Iowa City area community. Kirkwood Community College Sustainability Club was awarded a grant from the Iowa City Climate Action fund to create the project with the hopes of helping our community become more connected, resilient, and sustainable. What we make will be sold at cost of the materials (ie the labor is volunteer). The purpose is to educate folks about sustainability and create a 'closed loop' of materials in our community. The vision is this will become a self-sustaining project that helps build relationships in our area. We have made raise garden benches, potting tables, planter house markers, bat, bird, critter houses (see below), and could do simple projects upon request.
