I envision an ecovillage on the Near East Side of Indianapolis. The site for the community could consist of a former prison, a commercial building, at least two of the over eight local unoccupied housing structures and several private properties, two of which are wooded. Many of the properties would need to be purchased. It seems that if this vision does not happen I imagine the properties would be used for something conventional. Regarding this matter I am in touch with an advocate of sustainable agriculture, a leader in founding cooperatives, a City-County Councilor, neighbors and friends. Making the process of transferring ownership easy for the owners would probably help in at least one instance. Collaborators on this endeavor are needed.
