Meet Tate, Your Rodent Defense Squad

Stopping rodents starts before they ever get near your door. Our technician Tate was out today prepping and placing exterior bait stations, loading each one with fresh bait and setting them along the perimeter of the property where mice and rats are most likely to try to sneak in. These locked stations keep the bait safely contained while working around the clock to catch the problem before it becomes an inside job. A properly placed perimeter program is one of the most effective tools we have to keep rodents out of your walls, your pantry, and your peace of mind.

We proudly serve Indianapolis, Fishers, Noblesville, Carmel, Brownsburg, and Greenwood. If you have heard scratching in the walls or found droppings you cannot explain, do not wait it out.

Fall Aeration Season Is Here

If your lawn feels thin, patchy, or hard as a rock underfoot, aeration is the fix. Our crew was out today running core aeration, pulling small plugs of soil to break up compaction and open the ground back up so water, air, and nutrients can actually reach the roots. This is the single best thing you can do for your lawn every fall, since it sets the stage for deeper roots, better color, and a much stronger comeback in spring.

We proudly serve Indianapolis, Carmel, Fishers, Westfield, Noblesville, Brownsburg, Avon, Plainfield, Greenwood, Zionsville, Danville, Greenfield, Cicero, Sheridan, Whitestown, Franklin, Center Grove, McCordsville, Fortville, Broad Ripple, and Speedway. Ready to get your lawn on the schedule?

Give Your Lawn Room To Breathe

There is a reason aeration is one of the most important things you can do for your lawn every fall. Compacted soil chokes out roots and blocks water, air, and nutrients from ever reaching where they matter most. Our team ran core aeration today, pulling small plugs from the lawn to loosen things up and give the grass room to grow deep, healthy roots before winter hits. Paired with overseeding, this is how you turn a tired, thin lawn into a thick, healthy one by next season. Thin spots, bare patches, or grass that just feels stressed no matter what you do are all signs your yard could use this.

We proudly serve Indianapolis, Carmel, Fishers, Westfield, Noblesville, Brownsburg, Avon, Plainfield, Greenwood, Zionsville, Danville, Greenfield, Cicero, Sheridan, Whitestown, Franklin, Center Grove, McCordsville, Fortville, Broad Ripple, and Speedway.

Why Cutting Your Grass Short Is a Mistake

Cutting your grass short just so you can mow less often is a mistake, and here is why.

We always recommend leaving your lawn a little taller instead of scalping it down. If you want more time between mows, let the grass grow a bit taller in between, then cut it down to about three and a half inches each time.

Here is the reason it matters. The taller your grass grows, the deeper its roots reach into the soil. Deeper roots mean a greener lawn, fewer disease problems, and grass that holds up better all year long.

So resist the urge to cut it short just to buy yourself extra days between mows. A little more height is doing more for your lawn than you might think. Follow the page for more lawn tips.

How Often You Should Really Be Watering Your Lawn

Should you water your lawn every day? Absolutely not, no matter what you might have heard.

Companies that sell irrigation systems often push daily watering because it makes their system seem more necessary than it actually is.

What your lawn actually wants is deep and infrequent watering, once or maybe twice a week. The target is an inch to an inch and a half of water on your lawn every week total, and that includes any rain that falls during that time.

Watering deep and infrequently trains the roots to grow down, which makes the lawn stronger through the heat. Watering a little every day does the opposite and keeps roots shallow.

Should You Bag Your Grass Clippings

Should you bag your grass clippings or leave them on the lawn? For most mows, leave them.

Those clippings break down naturally and turn into genuinely good organic matter in your soil, which means real nutrients going back into your lawn instead of into a trash bag. It is free fertilizer that most people throw away without realizing it.

There is one exception worth knowing. If your lawn has a fungal problem, bag those clippings and remove them from the property so the fungus does not spread anywhere else.

Outside of that, let the clippings lay. Less bagging for you, more nutrients for the lawn. Follow the page for more simple lawn tips.

Why Topsoil Beats Sand and Compost

Sand or topsoil? Always topsoil, never sand or compost, and never mix the two together.

Here is why. Putting topsoil on your lawn is not really about leveling it out. The real point is adding nutrients back into the soil.

This matters most if your yard has heavy clay soil, which a lot of lawns around here do. A layer of topsoil helps give the grass what it needs to actually thrive, rather than just filling in low spots.

So if your lawn is struggling, reach for topsoil, not sand or compost, and think nutrients rather than leveling. Follow the page for more simple lawn tips.
