Good morning, everyone! 🌞

I haven't posted in a while because summer has been keeping me busy! Between gardening, making flower bouquets, selling produce, and keeping up with my bookkeeping clients, there haven't been enough hours in the day.

Today I'm starting a new garden project, and I thought you might enjoy following along. I'm giving one side of my flower trellis a complete makeover. It just didn't turn out the way I had hoped. The dahlias are falling over, the w**ds have taken over because I never put down a w**d barrier, and the whole bed needs a fresh start.

I'll be sharing pictures as I go. Step one: cut the dahlias back to about 8–12 inches, then dig up the white dahlias and move them to a better home in the front yard where they'll get more afternoon shade.

Sometimes the best gardens come from learning what didn't work and trying again. Follow along and let's see how this transformation turns out! 🌸🌻🌿

🌿 Today I’m trying to catch up with everything the garden did while I was busy over the weekend! 🌸
First on the list was rescuing some wind-blown zinnias and tomatoes — lots of tying, staking, and getting everyone standing tall again. 😊
I also transplanted 7 Ge**er daisies into two different beds. I’m excited to see how they do! They should be a hardy addition to the garden and bring some beautiful, colorful focal flowers to future bouquets. 🌼💐
And because apparently I can never have too many white flowers… I added 3 more white pentas! 🤍 They make such a pretty filler and go with everything.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Father’s Day! 💙 Mine was extra special — I listed and sold 5 Father’s Day themed bouquets, including my very first flower delivery! 🚗🌻
Thank you all for supporting my little garden adventure. I’m having so much fun watching it grow! 🌱✨

Good Morning Y'all
On my walk through the garden this morning, this hymn came to mind. I could almost hear my dad singing it. He loved hymns and often filled the house with songs of praise.
For the beauty of the earth, For the glory of the skies, For the love which from our birth Over and around us lies,
Christ our Lord, to Thee we raise This our hymn of grateful praise.
Today I'm thankful for God's creation, for the beauty of the earth, and for the memories of my dad. 🌻💙

🌱 Birthday Reflections from the Garden 🌱

As I enter my 65th birthday month, I read these words very differently than I did as a younger working adult.

When you're self-employed, there really is no such thing as retirement—but I do have more freedom in my days now than ever before. I've chosen to spend much of that time growing a garden that feeds my family, friends, neighbors, and even my chickens.

One of the greatest joys has been sharing God's love through simple acts of compassion and the free gifts that come from the bounty of the garden. A bouquet of flowers, a basket of vegetables, fresh eggs, or herbs picked just for someone—these small gifts can brighten a day and remind us that we are blessed so that we can bless others.

This verse brings to mind something Charles Stanley once said about retirement: "There is no mention of retirement in the Bible." We may retire from a career, but we never retire from serving God and serving others.

"Keep laboring—even if you choose to retire from your vocation. Just as certain fruit improves as trees age, years of walking with God should yield greater fruit."

My prayer is that the years ahead will produce not only beautiful flowers and healthy vegetables, but also kindness, generosity, wisdom, and faithfulness—the kind of fruit that lasts forever. 🍅🌻❤️

"The righteous will flourish like a palm tree... They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green." — Psalm 92:12,14 NIV
