We’re switching things up for this one! Darren is our FIRST employee-nominated Employee Spotlight — and apparently, his coworkers had a few things to say.

Darren is a Project Engineer who wears more hats than we can count. If there’s a problem, a question, a curveball or something that needs to be figured out… chances are Darren is somewhere in the mix getting it handled.

So we’re just going to say it… we are very glad Darren decided to leave teaching and come work with us. What a win for us. Seriously. He brought that same patience and problem-solving mindset and now we get to benefit from it every day.

He keeps projects moving, helps keep the rest of us sane and somehow manages to be the go-to guy for just about everything.

So, from the people who work alongside him every day: Darren, you earned this one. 👊

Thanks for always wearing whatever hat the job needs — and for being the guy everyone can count on!

This week’s spotlight goes to Mitch, better known around here as “Pork.” As one of our superintendents, Mitch has become someone we know we can count on no matter what the job throws at him.

When the opportunity came to step into a leadership role, we didn’t exactly ease him into it—we threw him to the wolves. Instead of backing down, Mitch dug in, figured it out and proved he was ready for the challenge. His willingness to take on responsibility, adapt and keep projects moving has made a huge impact on both our team and our customers.

Thanks for everything you do, Pork. We’re proud to have you leading our crews and can’t wait to see what’s next. We appreciate everything you do!

This week we’re shining the spotlight on Dave, better known around here as “Captain Keller.”

If there’s an excavator with his name on it, you can bet the job is going to be done right. Dave has an incredible touch behind the controls, combining precision, patience and years of experience to tackle even the toughest projects.

Beyond his skill in the field, Dave is someone people naturally look up to. He leads by example and is always willing to lend a hand. His experience and character have made a lasting impact on our team, and we’re grateful to have him in our corner.

Today we’re celebrating the freedoms we often take for granted, along with the families, friends and communities that make America such a great place to call home.

We’re proud to live and work in a country built on hard work, resilience and neighbors helping neighbors. Thank you to our employees, customers, partners and our veterans for helping make those values come to life every day.

In place of this week’s Employee Spotlight, we wanted to take a moment to recognize two very special members of our team—Dave and Tyler.

Ten years ago, we took a chance on two young guys, and they took an even bigger chance on us. Looking back, we never could have imagined everything we’d accomplish together over the last decade.

Their dedication, loyalty and hard work have helped shape who we are today, and we truly can’t thank them enough. Even more rewarding than watching their professional growth has been seeing them build lives and families of their own along the way.

Dave and Tyler, thank you for ten incredible years of service. We’re grateful for everything you’ve done and can’t wait to see what the next decade has in store for both of you. Here’s to many more years together!

This week, we’re recognizing Lucas for the growth, dedication and loyalty he’s shown to our team.

Over the years, Lucas has continued to step up whenever and wherever he’s needed. Whether it’s taking on new responsibilities or tackling a challenge head-on, he’s consistently proven that he’s someone we can count on.

His growth has been impressive to watch. He’s worked hard to develop his skills, gain experience, and become a valuable part of our operation. More importantly, he’s done it with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and that million-dollar smile that’s usually visible from across the jobsite.

This week’s spotlight goes to Jim, better known around here as “Pap.”

As one of our heavy equipment operators, Pap is the guy we call when a job requires a little extra finesse. Whether it’s working around utilities, tight spaces, steep slopes or any other touchy situation, he’s usually the one climbing into the seat. Not because he’s looking for the challenge—but because we know he’ll do it safely and do it right.

Pap’s attention to detail makes him one of our most trusted operators. He isn’t in a hurry to cut corners, and that’s exactly why we count on him when precision matters most. Around here, “slow and steady” often means getting the job done correctly the first time.

His experience, professionalism and commitment to safety help keep our projects moving and our crews protected every day.

This week we’re shining the spotlight on Jason, our Data Manager… although if we’re being honest, most of us still aren’t entirely sure what that means. Somehow he spends his days staring at spreadsheets, clicking around on multiple monitors and making numbers do things the rest of us didn’t know were possible.

While the field crews move dirt and crush rock, Jason is behind the scenes making sure the data, reports, tracking and endless spreadsheets all make sense. If something important needs to be figured out, there’s a good chance Jason already has a spreadsheet for it — probably color coded too.

There’s definitely some kind of wizardry involved in what he does. We don’t ask too many questions… we just accept the sorcery and move on.

All jokes aside, Jason plays a huge role in keeping things organized and running smoothly. His work helps the entire team stay informed, efficient and on track every day. We appreciate everything he does behind the scenes — even if the rest of us still have no clue how he does it.
