Meet Noah!

Noah was surprised to learn how many people expect to have their tank pumped out, even when it's not time yet.

One thing that makes a job harder than expected is: not knowing where the septic tank is or how deep it is, without cleanouts by the house to help find it, according to Noah.

A common question he gets from homeowners is "how much time do I have before I need to have you out again".

A good piece of advice he got from another technician is to always camera the inlet and outlet sewer pipes to check for damage.

Meet Paul!

Paul's #1 tip for keeping a system healthy is to get it pumped out frequently.

He says his most-used phrase while at work is "I love my job".

The best piece of advice Paul has ever gotten is to "pay attention" or "don't do what I do- do what i say".

One of his summer weekend hobbies is cliff jumping.

It's important to get your septic tank pumped out on a regular schedule for many reasons.

Pumping out your tank regularly prevents backups and overflows: Solids accumulate over time causing your disposal field to clog or sewage to back up into your house.

Removing the scum and sludge layers also reduces wear on the tank and disposal field components.

Routine pumping saves money because it is far cheaper in the long run compared to a full new system install.

Meet Michael!

Michael says the most important tool he has on the job is the garden hose to clean the sludge on the bottom of the tank.

If septic work were an Olympic sport he said he would medal in pumping, definitely not the repair work.

Michael sold cars for Nissan before he started working at JT's Septic.

Here is what a 2,500 Gallon Septic Tank install looks like.

The tank is installed in two pieces in a large hole sized carefully to fit the entire tank. The base is leveled and prepped so the tank sits evenly, which is very important for the system to work properly.

The bottom half gets placed first, set perfectly level. Then the watertight sealant is applied and the top half is put in place.

Afterwards - not included in the video, The inlet and outlet pipes are connected, the lids are installed and the hole is carefully backfilled and packed down in layers to prevent the tank from shifting.
