At what point should a skilled tradesperson stop being the primary technician and start leading production?

They gutted it, installed a floor, welded the back door, and built it in the driveway. Then the generator failed before the first event, after the credit card was already maxed out.
Would you build the minimum viable version or wait until you had more capital?

The original idea was a bar. After the funding disappeared, we could not afford a building, so we explored a mobile trailer.
Then we learned the alcohol operation still required brick-and-mortar.
Our wives liked coffee. That constraint-driven pivot became Trilogy Brew.
What limitation ended up improving your original plan?

She told us plainly: “Y’all aren’t going to make it.”
We had insufficient foot traffic, high food costs, and inventory going to waste. Instead of closing the business, we removed food and focused on what the operation could support.
That decision helped us survive COVID.
What is harder for an owner: quitting or cutting a part of the original vision?
