🚨4 Post-Storm Tips Every Homeowner Should Know🚨
Avoid these red flags!

We hope everyone made it through the storm okay.

We know storms can be stressful, but the decisions you make after the storm matter most.
Here are 4 simple tips every homeowner should know to protect themselves after a storm.

Share this with friends or neighbors who might need it.

1. Be cautious of “deductible assistance.”
If anyone offers to “cover your deductible,” that’s illegal in Texas and a common red flag you should avoid.

2. Don’t sign with the first person you meet.
Interview at least 2–3 reputable companies before you choose.
Remember, you're hiring a company to work FOR YOU.

Every expectation and detail should be lined out before signing.

3. Door-knocking will get aggressive. Protect your peace.

You’re about to get more knocks than a UPS driver in December.
Put a handwritten note on the door:
"Please, don't knock- we've decided on a company
OR
our personal favorite...
“Please don’t knock. Baby’s sleeping.”
It works. (We dare a contractor to test it.)

4. Document everything, and protect your home early.
Take photos of any damage you see: shingles on the ground, debris impacts, interior stains, anything.

If your roof is open in areas, use tarps to protect your home right away.

Insurance companies typically reimburse homeowners for temporary protection, because it helps prevent further damage.

🙌We hope these tips help our Houston communities stay protected.

Storms can take a real toll on homeowners, and it’s easy to feel rushed or vulnerable when you’re trying to get things fixed quickly.

That’s when bad practices tend to slip through.

On this 9/11, we honor the lives lost and the heroes who answered the call. Recent events, including the attack on Charlie Kirk, remind us that intolerance and violence, whether here at home or abroad, have no place in our communities. At Anvil Roofers we stand for unity, respect, and peace. 🇺🇸

I have to say... We've done quite a few roofs in our day (we're getting old), but this one really is a gem!

We are absolutely thrilled and grateful to be able to complete this roof replacement project for our client David, here in the Houston Heights! This job also involved some gutter work and trim carpentry, but the main focus here was the standing seam steel roof.

One of the main concerns for our client was being able to execute a flat panel flawlessly, with minimal oil canning, which is a visible waviness or dimple-like appearance that commonly occurs in metal panels. This happens due to the natural tension throughout the structure of the panel, and can be next to impossible to completely eliminate. Most standing seam panels that you see will be 24 gauge or thinner, with a striated profile, which means that there are bends or creases in the metal. This striated structure helps to reduce the appearance of oil canning, and in many cases is an excellent choice. However, being that our client was looking for a flat profile panel, we opted for a thicker gauge steel and added a foam backer rod "spine" to the center of each panel. This allowed for further structuring of the panels, and greatly reduced the appearance of oil canning.

As you can see here, one word to describe how this project turned out would be: impeccable.

Panel Type: Custom-made, on-site roll formed McElroy Metal steel
Color: Slate Gray
Panel Width: 16"
Seam Height: 1.5"
Additional: Foam backer rod and perforated zee closures along ridges to vent attic
Underlayment: Roofnado LapLock PSU HT high temperature ice & water leak barrier (across full surface of roof)

🚫 Don’t Let This Be Your Roofer.
A crew was caught illegally dumping in a Houston parking lot. This is more than just bad manners, it’s against the law.
When you hire a roofer, choose one with integrity, transparency, and proper disposal practices. If they cut corners on debris removal, they’re probably cutting corners on your roof replacement too.
