Aroostook County is feeling the deep freeze today, with extreme cold and a winter storm moving in. A few simple steps now can help protect your home and prevent damage.

Cold-weather reminders:
1. Let faucets drip and open cabinet doors under sinks
2. Insulate exposed pipes
3. Keep furnace, dryer, and bathroom vents clear of snow and ice
4. Avoid climbing on icy roofs—watch for leaks or ice dams instead
5. If you lose heat or power, shut off your water at the main.

We see winter damage every year—most of it preventable. Stay warm, stay safe, and check on your neighbors.

Who left Santa unsupervised?
At Hayes Construction, we believe in safety—and that starts with the right people, gifted with the right skills. Santa’s gifts? Holiday cheer, toy logistics, elite chimney access. Construction? Not so much.
Great guy. Iconic beard. Absolutely should not be trusted with a cherry picker. The sunglasses said “I’ve got this.” Reality said otherwise. Santa… please stick to toys and reindeer.
