Apprentice Firefighter of the Year, Firefighter Carter Cochran
We are proud to recognize Firefighter Carter Cochran as the North Little Rock Fire Department’s 2026 Apprentice Firefighter of the Year.
Over the past year, Carter has demonstrated a level of passion, dedication, and determination that is uncommon for someone so early in their career. Following in his father’s footsteps, he set out to become a firefighter and has already established himself as someone who consistently goes above and beyond.
From his first days in the firehouse, Carter embraced every challenge placed before him. He has repeatedly shown maturity beyond his years, performing with confidence and professionalism during difficult incidents while earning the trust and respect of his officers and fellow firefighters.
What truly sets Carter apart is his commitment to improvement. He arrives early, trains hard, studies, works out, and constantly looks for ways to become better. Whether it’s training, station projects, or emergency responses, he approaches every opportunity with enthusiasm and a strong work ethic.
Carter represents everything we hope to see in the next generation of firefighters. His attitude, dedication, and willingness to learn have already made a lasting impact on our department.
