The advantage of using Like New is that I have been a professional roofer for almost 15 yrs now. I know how to access roofs safely and inspect them properly to ensure that all problem areas are dealt with. I can even give you an accurate estimate on the remaining lifespan of your roof and offer detailed reports for insurance or real-estate purposes. Our typical process includes debris removal from the roof system and gutter system to ensure our soap reaches the entire roof. Next we thoroughly inspect the roof where it is accessible. Finally we apply our soap system to the roof in order to kill all the biological growth on the roof system. While doing this we take precautions to protect your other building products and landscaping. Results from the process are usually visible within just a few hours from the time of completion. The dark algae growth removal is quickly visible in most areas and any remaining stains will go away within a couple of rains. On the other hand, if you have patches of moss or lichen on your roof it will turn white within the first few hours and then slowly crystalize and fall off over the next month or so. In most cases we try not to disturb this growth because it it rooted into the shingles and disturbances can result in granule loss on the roof. One great benefit of this process is that the AMAZING aesthetic results are just a bonus. The real value is that this process ensures you get the maximum life out of your roofing system. The black algae stains you see on the roof are actually feeding on the limestone in your roof system which prematurely damages the granules and finish. Additionally, the moss and lichen will get under the shingle seal strips and cause the roof to loose it's seal and make fasteners vulnerable to rust and corrosion causing leaks. Finally, by killing all the biological growth on the roof you get extended results that we WARRANTY for THREE YEARS but often last for five years or more.
