Soil testing in haddam to replace a failed 9 year old system. This new home and property highlights the fact that there are a lot of shady builder/developers out there who do not have the best interest of the client in mind. The system that was installed originally has no business being installed in the soil we found during testing. We will likely be installing an old school pipe and stone system in a sand bed to replace this system and give these homeowners the system they should have gotten from the beginning. Septic tank replacement in Durham, we performed a septic inspection earlier this month for this real estate transaction. We found a collapsed pipe from tank to dbox and some issues with the tank. We were back this week to swap out the tank and make the necessary repairs, while working we found the 1st dbox to be badly deteriorated so that was replaced as well. Foundation leak repair in Durham, we removed the landscaping dug down to the pipe pe*******on in the wall knocked out the old mortar that was used to seal the pipe, resealed it with hydraulic cement and waterproofing, installed leader drains to direct the downspouts away from the area that had the leak, we patch paved the driveway section we removed and also redid the mortar inside with hydraulic cement and sealed the pipe with a special waterproofing foam sealer. This scenario highlights the importance of obtaining proper permits for work done in your home. Last year, we replaced a septic system as part of a real estate transaction. This spring, the new homeowner contacted us about septic water surfacing in the yard. We returned to inspect the system and found that everything was functioning as it should—yet wastewater was still appearing on the ground.

After further investigation inside the home, we discovered an unpermitted bathroom with plumbing running through a crawl space. This connection had been concealed during Inspections and was illegally tied into the old septic system through a separate pipe that exited the house independent of the main line connection. There were no records of this bathroom with the town or health department, and it had been overlooked during both the home and septic inspections prior to the sale. This improperly installed connection is likely the cause of the original system failure as it had been dumping solid waste directly into the old dry well.

We removed and properly abandoned the illegal line, then reconnected it correctly to the new septic system at no cost to the homeowner. Give us a call for all your septic and excavation needs.
