The meat birds moved to the tractor last weekend and are getting so big! Pictured here at 5 weeks, they will stay in the tractor until they go to freezer camp.

It's garlic scape time! Only hardneck garlic produces scapes, and they are only available for a short time in the summer when garlic starts reaching it's final stage of growth. Garlic scape pesto and garlic scape butter are my two favorite ways to use them up!

Please give a warm welcome to our newest, temporary, additions to the farm!

These are our meat birds and they'll be here for about 10-12 weeks. They are Rangers, so they will do some foraging and act more like chickens than a traditional broiler. This is our fourth year raising Rangers and while it is a fair amount of work, we love filling our freezer with homegrown food. I'll be posting updates until they go to freezer camp in August.

Things have been busy around the farm and I'm going to try and post some updates this week.

🐥 First things first, we added some new members to our flock - green and pink egg layers! Pictured here is "Turbo Tina", affectionately called "TT", and she and her sisters will lay green eggs. We also picked up a couple more pink egg layers because chicken math is a real thing and I am one of its victims.

🥚 We will continue selling eggs this summer and hope to have them available at the pop-up farm stand in town. Follow us here for updates and more info on farm stand dates!

🍅 Lastly, the high tunnel is almost completely fixed! It got some major updates this spring and we're hoping it's new cover will last a while🤞Stay tuned for pictures of the finished work!

We did our last picking of the year and have lots of green tomatoes left! Any fried green tomato fans or green tomato salsa makers out there looking for green tomatoes, let us know!
